Week 15 Day 1 (Monday, Nov 28) - Homework

All OU Student have a school assigned web sub-domain and 1 GB worth of server space. Find Hosting website with portfolio.ou.edu instructions here (*you must grant public permissions for all files/folders for others to see your site with a password)

Week 13 Day 2 (Wednesday, Nov 16) - Homework
1. Continue to refine and improve projects 1-3 in preparation for development of process book.
2. Complete InDesign Exercise (for Nov 16)
a) Create a 10 page document in InDesign, Letter sized, Landscape orientation, facing pages, use either 5 or 7 columns
b) Using and applying Masters, add a footer to all pages that contains your first and last name and current page number.
c) First page must have 9 different images. All images must be placed into a consistently sized square frame, and aligned/distributed evenly in a 3x3 grid structure.
d) On pages 2-10, place 1-2 images and 1 paragraph of lorem ipsum text on each page (one large image, one small close up image). Layout structure of image and text should be consistent throughout all pages.
e) Submit PDF of final document to "InDesign Exercise (nov 16) Submission" Dropbox folder by the start of next class, Monday, Nov 21 at 4:30pm.

Week 12 Day 2 (Wed, Nov 9) Homework
Final Critique for Project 3 will take place next class, Monday, Nov 14 at 4:30pm.
What to submit:
1. Print outs (trimmed to 10"x16") for all months. **Write your full name on the back in PENCIL. Pin to wall by Monday at 4:30pm. Projects pinned after 4:30pm will be marked down as late.
2. Prepare a digital presentation (to be created in powerpoint or InDesign) of your entire process from project 3; digital presentation to be used in final critique in order to concisely document and discuss progress through each phase of project 3. If you want to use Powerpoint, you can download a template ppt file and example PDF from the D2L. Digital PDF of digital presentation must be loaded to instructor station by 4:30pm.
2. CD with project 3 files (organized as followed below:)
Proj 3 files must be organized, labeled and structured accordingly to chart below. Please only include files listed below.
CD must be submitted to instructor by end of class session (CDs submitted after 7:20pm will be marked as late). Late work will be subjected to penalties.

Week 11 Day 2 (Wednesday, Nov 2) - Homework
1. Continue creative development for version 3 of project 3.
Basic Guidelines for version 3:
- Visual Poem area should explore the modification and merging between your object based imagery (explored in version 1) and typography study (explored in version 1) components
- Explore ways to join and unify the visual poem with the calendar text components in order to achieve a fluid composition
- Colors allowed: Black, white, plus 1 CYMK color
Additional ideas to consider:
- Analyze use of typographic and object based imagery with regards to basic design principles.
- Composition should be evocative and rich--bring powerful imagery, memories feelings to mind
- Calendar system (day, month weeks) should indicate a VISUAL passing of time.
- Stereotypical scenes or event of each month and/or literal depictions of your text passage is strongly discouraged
Version 3 review will take place next week. Print outs (trimmed to 10"x16") for all 12 months should be prepared for review next class session Monday, Nov 7.
